A wonderful place with delicious food! They offer a special menu perfect for every pilgrim who has walked the Camino de Santiago. Only €16.50 — steak, potatoes, peppers, and cheesecake. An excellent restaurant
Restaurant was great. Lovely place for a last night in Santiago de Compostela. Had a lovely salad, grilled sole. The server was charming. Very pleasant evening. Highly recommend.
Nice food on a square with lots of pilgrim passage. Above all, the waiter was great!
We dined in the restaurant on the evening of the 13th of May '25, party of 5. Great meal. Starter 2x prawns (a la plancha), 1x scampi in garlic and oil, 1x asparagus with mayonnaise and 1x Raxa (local pork dish). We all found our starters to be excellent, I really enjoyed the scampi, also tasted the Raxa which was v tender. Mains 2x slow roasted lamb on the bone, 3x Monkfish with clams, prawns and potatoes. The lamb was outstandingly tender and succulent. Can't remember the exact desserts we had, but all agreed v good. Waiter was excellent and tolerated our lack of Spanish with good humour and we had some good laughs with him over the course of the meal. A couple of bottles of good white wine and a lovely Rioja were also consumed. A most enjoyable meal. A shame Google can't seem to separate the accommodation from the restaurant as I suspect most reviews are for the restaurant like ours is.
Very pleasant stop in our visit to the old town. Waiter spoke English well and provided coffee and almond cake quickly. We ordered a second coffee and got a couple of complimentarysmall pieces of another cake. Lovely location by a pleasant small square. A lovely interlude..
This review is for the restaurant only. Great location, next to the Cathedral and a lovely square full of flowers, central but away from the craziness of main street. The service was amazing, quick and friendly. The shrimp omelette was good, the cheese platter came with 3 types of cheese from the area and the Mencía house wine was very rich. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the fish. We got monkfish that was apparently the speciality, and although it was well cooked and accompanied by some delicious shrimp, the portion was poor and the fish was fried - not stewed as the waiter said. Anyway, all in all a good place for a meal.
I would like to thank the host for his generosity, and kindness for allowing me to sit at a.table on my own whilst other restaurants would only allow couples/pairs to sit at their tables. The food and service was 5star and would highly recommend this restairant to anyone visiting.
